OVERVIEW

Train or crosstrain with a high energy, low impact Aqua Class. In the water, you’ll have lots of resistance and an increased range of motion. You’ll focus on proper alignment and technique as you improve your muscular strength, endurance and balance. You’ll learn ways to increase or decrease the intensity of the exercises to personalize your workouts. No swimming skills are required. All classes meet for one hour and are open to men and women at any fitness and experience level

CLASSES

Aqua
Aerobics

You'll learn the fundamentals of aquatic exercise and the basic and not so basic moves. You'll be guided through the choreographed section, work on abdominal strength against water's resistance throughout the workout and have time for some "target" toning and flexibility work too. This is a well balance, low impact workout. It's a good choice for training or cross-training

Aqua
Power

Hydro-Fit ® resistance equipment (cuffs and hand buoys) add extra strength training benefits and lots of fun to an effective low to no impact workout. You may use any, all, or none of the equipment at any time.

WATER WORK & STRETCH

Gentle range of motion exercises plus water walking will help you to improve or maintain your strength, endurance and flexibility. This is an “at your own pace”, non-aerobic workout. The class is within the capabilities of most people with arthritis as it uses the exercises and follows the program developed by the Arthritis Foundation. It’s great for injury recovery too.

ADDED ATTRACTIONS

One of these short segments is added to each Aqua
Aerobics class for extra toning or cardiovascular benefits.

WET STRENGTH

You'll do strength training using rubber tubing. Tubes are color coded so you can choose the resistance that's right for you.

STEP UP TO BALANCE

An aqua step plus the turbulence and resistance of the water add an extra challenge to balance training.

NIFTY NOODLES

A water noodle in shallow water provides resistance for strengthening exercises. In deep water, the noodle supports your body for abdominal work.

ADDED TEN

Ten extra minutes of aerobics provide more cardio, more calorie burning, and a change of pace

TABATA IN THE TUB

The land tabata has been adapted for a challenge in the pool. It’s four minutes of intense exercise.
